E3, 2, 1… GO!

E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo held annually in Los Angeles California, should really be called G3 – as it’s all games, games, games.

BD have attended E3 for the past 5 years, and each year we learn more about what E3 really is all about and how we can apply what we find out to our work. Read more...

Where are Tesco’s 1 million missing shoppers spending their £25?

Has the decline of Tesco started to stop or just merely begun?

A retail analyst at HSBC illustrated their loss as a startling statistic - a million shoppers spending £25 less per week with them. That's big news by anyone's standards, but the question is where are the million missing shoppers spending that £25?

In a studio far far away

Over the past few years, the creative team has been setting itself some great extra-curricular briefs. These have ranged from a ‘Creatures' illustration brief in association with Art Against Knives, to the festive stalwart – the BD Christmas card designs.

Back in November, the creative team were challenged to create a new poster for their favourite films.

#BDlovespancakes

The winter months are finally coming to an end and with that arrives Shrove Tuesday, the last day before the fasting of Lent. Mind you, nowadays we seem to have turned the sequence around, doing the fasting before Pancake Day as opposed to after.

Whatever the reason, or no reason at all other than as a nice treat, here’s how to make them, and how to make them a little extra special.

Are we on the Air? – Gaming Live Streams

It’s the weekend, I’m sat crossed legged on the floor of my spare bedroom, surrounded by a morass of cables and enough boxes filled with electronics and glowing lights to make mission control at NASA a tad jealous.

Why are you drowning in this electronic swamp? I hear you ask.

Wot Dot?

What will we do?
Watching the BBC Business News earlier this week put me into moany mode. I bet we haven’t even thought about a new domain for work. The fear of missing out became real #FOMO, but that’s another story.

A Newbie in Agency World.

Four months ago, one year out of Uni studying history, with a brief stint in a small digital marketing company, I found myself walking along the halls of East London’s famous Tea Building – hub of some of London’s leading agencies – ready for my first day at what I was certain would be my dream job Read more...

Big vs Small 2014

In London everyone knows that small = cool. Walk around our East London neighbourhood and you’ll struggle not to stumble upon a new pop-up store/burger joint/speakeasy that has seemingly arrived overnight. London is becoming saturated with brands offering new experiences, new products and new lifestyle choices for those who aren’t yet sold into the idea of brand loyalty. Read more...

The Emotional Rollercoaster of a Creative Brief

One of the most exciting things to happen to someone in Client Services is the moment when a new project lands in your inbox. It can bring a little flutter (an even bigger flutter if it's news of a pitch win...). Read more...

Applying the principles of a good club night to your brand

I spent what I would call my formative years in Manchester, where I learnt quite a lot about marketing working for small agencies and some big brands, and even more about having a good time. One of the things that I personally find fascinating is examining the difference between brands/products that succeed and those who don’t. Read more...

Being a BD Belle

I’ve recently come out of retirement and taken up netball again after a good 15 years. Last night I played my first competitive game since I was at school – the days of wearing a bum skimming skirt with Lycra blue shorts underneath, blowing on purple hands to get the blood moving in Baltic conditions, you know the one.
